I think Ruth Axtell is a good writer. She is clear in telling the story and events flow well.
It's always good to have stories that strongly mirror reality. In life, there is usually one person in a couple who expresses more passion toward the other and invests more time in seeing the relationship meets success. So Lancelot pursued Miss Barry with more interest than she expressed toward him. It's true enough to reality, but at almost the very end, she decided Lancelot wasn't such a bad guy to marry. I don't know....... no sparks and then loud sparks. It just doesn't seem to work that way that quickly.
It's an average read - no more, no less.
The 1st book of the series was way better.
I really enjoyed this book. It is better than the first book in the series. Best to read them in order to get the most out of them.
