Rules for Becoming a Legend was a great book, although the story wasn't very unique. The story is about the life of a young basketball star named Jimmy, living in a basketball crazy city in Oregon. His father was a great player and said to be the city's "Chosen One" and "Hero" but got hurt, so all that pressure is now on Jimmy. The story is about him overcoming the problems and pressure he faces on and off the court. I loved the story, but it's not very unique. It's your typical sports story where the character struggles, but finds greatness or makes the game winning shot. The story is also written in what seems like a journal entry telling stories from different time periods switching back and forth. This makes the story very confusing at times. Although the book is not the best it's not horrible. I would recommend it to a more advanced reader who can understand the strange writing format or anyone who loves sports stories.
All in all I rate the book 3/5 stars
