Story of family. Muriel is the youngest of three children. She grows up being ignored, unwanted and unloved. Her older sister Pia is her mother's pride and joy. As an adult Muriel still has to deal with her mother's indifference, until a tragedy strikes the family. Go Muriel!

Great summer easy read. Sad at times but entertaining and well written.

Got halfway through the book because I had nothing else with me to read. Couldn't get into it and didn't finish it. I didn't find any of the characters at all likeable or even people I could identify with.
