After her first novel gets rejected, young Jane Austen is feeling out of sorts. Then she meets a dangerous stranger at a dance and unwillingly becomes a vampire. As if that is not enough to deal with, the French invade England! She wants to help the cause with her new powers, but is torn between her life with her family and the exciting, dangerous world of the damned.
