Diana is a suburban wife and mother who begins to question her seemingly perfect life, and perhaps her sanity, on the 15th anniversary of a tragic high school shooting that killed her bestfriend. Diana was a vibrant high schooler who, with her shy best friend Maureen, cut class, fantasized about boys and vow to leave their sleepy suburb at the first opportunity. Now, however, Diana is haunted by the increasingly strained relationships she had with Maureen as the day of the school shooting approached. These memories disrupt the idyllic life she now has with her professor husband Paul and their daughter Emma. As older Diana's life begins to unravel and younger Diana gets closer and closer to the fatal day, a deeper mystery slowly unravels.

I would rather have seen a film that dealt with survivor’s guilt in a serious way. The ending is like a trick at the ending of a non-serious film. I decided to watch to see what Uma Thurman was doing nowadays, but her presence was not enough to make up for this malarkey.

I thought this movie was excellent. Deep and penetrating, I found myself thinking about the premise and the characters after the movie was over. I watched it over a year ago and I still remember it as a very good movie and recommend it. It also has an unexpected ending that may make you want to watch it again.

I found the movie disappointing and messy. It's slow moving and disjointed. The ending made little sense to me.

Good - The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) 90 min. starring Uma Thurman and Rachel Evan Wood. I watched this film cold in the sense of not knowing the premise of the picture and I'm glad I did - I got to experience the events (in mind only) as the characters did in this picture - surprised and in horror. Very good acting, good messages throughout make this a winner. The only reservaton I had was the conclusion of the film (it just wasn't necessary, in my opinion, because it created holes in the story that it didn't have to).
