Yes, if you are looking for a plot and high production values, you will be disappointed, but that seems to miss the point. This is a seminal film both as an African-American film and as an indie film. Shot on a very low budget with mostly amateurs, it doesn't seek to do much except depict a group of blacks living in L.A. and going about their daily lives. It was unavailable for years, but it's D.I.Y. approach and whatever goes aesthetic would influence a generation of independent filmmakers. This set also includes his second film and some shorts.
