The first collection of essays from renowned scientist and best-selling author Richard Dawkins.

Richard Dawkins's essays are an enthusiastic testament to the power of rigorous, scientific examination, and they span many different corners of his personal and professional life. He revisits the meme, the unit of cultural information that he named and wrote about in his groundbreaking work The Selfish Gene . He makes moving tributes to friends and colleagues, including a eulogy for novelist Douglas Adams; he shares correspondence with the evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould; and he visits with the famed paleoanthropologists Richard and Maeve Leakey at their African wildlife preserve. He concludes the essays with a vivid note to his ten-year-old daughter, reminding her to remain curious, to ask questions, and to live the examined life.

Funny how one has to pick and choose just the right creationist to suit one's beliefs--while you can pick up any scientific text from elementary school to advanced theory, and the information is consistent. Most importantly is the consistent acknowledgement in the scientific community that if evidence exists against one's beliefs, a scientist will: must: change them. Creationism's ultimate flaw is that it posits itself as the TRUTH. That is not science: that is religion. If Dawkins were ever convinced that creationism had a leg to stand on, I'm sure he would be the first to publish a book on that. You simply can not say the same for the likes of Morris and Hovind, the latter being a shameless con man: they will perpetuate scientifically vacuous claims (read: Lies) with a straight face--just keep the cash flowing.

Kent Hovind http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind

To all you seekers of truth. I have a few suggestions for you. Anything by Henry Morris also, I love to watch debates with kent Hovind. Dawkins feared Hovind. Also look into creation science. Search and research and you will find that Dawkins is not telling you science but he is selling you a lie.
