This is my first Elin Hilderbrand books and while it is a bittersweet love story with a good cry at the end - no two people in love would not act like this. I have been in love and lost and I would have done anything and lived anywhere to…

What a great story!! Now I want to see the movie Same Time Next Year. Mallory and Jake were such likable characters and I loved how their story came about. Wonderful writing!!

Nothing of substance around an unoriginal story "Same Time Next Year" with the author's biased political opinions scattered throughout. Would not recommend nor does it make me want to read more by this author.

A pair stay in touch over the years meeting only each year over labor day weekend. Now, I've got a soft spot for a "same time next year" romance, but I don't know about this one. I didn't find it super romantic that they were spending the…

Nope. Nope. Nope. This one made me mad. To start, can we get some chapters in here? I don't quite understand why Elin writes without the use of chapters.
Second. The whole story line is bogus. Mallory putting herself on hold for 3 measly…

This was the first Elin Hilderbrand novel I've read, and I can't believe it took me this long to read her work. I really enjoy her voice and style of writing, and I'll be seeking out her other novels now. Her development of all the…

Beach reads and romance are not typically genres I'm drawn to, but I couldn't put this book down. Watching Mallory Blessing and Jake McCloud's Labor Day weekend romance unfold over 28 years, the fun historical and pop culture context given…

I have read almost everything Hilderbrand has written and this is my favorite!! The story takes you through 28 years and it unfolds nicely. Such a great beach read; you will need Kleenex at the end.

I thought this book was way too political for my taste. The author is definitely biased and should stick with fiction like her other novels. My least favorite of her books.

Absolutely wonderful, I saw where the plot was heading and cannot help but love this book. Hilderbrand never disappoints. ANd I love reading anything she writes.
Good Read? In my case listen to. Why would any two people who profess to love each other so much do such a stupid thing. Why didn't Jake man up and leave his Bitch wife? Why would any woman throw her undying love away on a guy who only…

'28 Summers' seems to have elicited strong emotions in reviewers here and elsewhere. I didn't love '28 Summers' nor did I hate it. I simply don't understand why some view everything in the lens of their own era or their own biases. It's…

What a bizarre mixture of politics, luck of any common moral principles- people are sleeping around with their best friends or with best friends of their best friends - and all of that is being framed as ‘romantic relationships’.

Meh...I had to go back and verify if this was a teen romance book... Lots of teenage drama. I was very disappointed. I know the story from “Same time Next Year” but this was a big disappointment.

I should learn that I am not going to enjoy romance novels. I gave this book a chance because one of my favorite films is "Same Time Next Year" with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn. The difference between the two premises is that in the film…

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration by Erin Bennett was very good.
The book started out with a prologue that let you know this wasn't going to be a happy book. That knowledge was hanging over me for the entire rest…

Inspired by the Broadway play and film 'Same Time Next Year', Mallory Blessing and Jake McCloud meet one summer during a bachelor party weekend and create an enduring connection that lasts 28 summers (or 28 Labor Day weekends). Jake…

I enjoyed reading this book. Had a hard time putting it down whenever I picked it up to read.
I liked the way Elin Hilderbrand started each chapter with the same format....Summer #1: 1996 all the way to Summer #28: 2020. "What were…
