By departing drastically from previous installments, "When He Was Wicked" gives the narrative a novel and unexpected turn. I didn't like how long it took to get to the complex emotional interplay between Michael and Francesca, which was…

Definitely the steamiest book out of the Bridgerton series, which is a nice change of pace from the typical romance tropes if I'm being honest. Michael's jokes and flirtatious dark side are absolutely swoon-worthy. Francesca is, of course,…

Incredibly angsty - but it's angst that makes sense. Michael's cousin John was really more of a brother to him. So, it wasn't super fun for Michael to fall head over heels for John's fiancee Francesca immediately upon meeting her. Nor…

SPOILER ALERT Francesca and Michael's story is without a doubt the most steamy of the bridgerton books. The relationship Francesca and Michael had before they got married made the whole story quite scandalous. I understood the hesitation…

"This is a beautiful Regency romance on grief, loss, and moving on. I've read and most loved all the books featuring the Bridgerton family, and this is the book I return to time after time because I think it is the best in the series. It…

Michael Stirling meets Francesca Bridgerton merely days before she is to marry his much-loved cousin. He spends a lot of time around the woman he loves, knowing he can never have her. But then his cousin dies suddenly. Not able to be…

My least favorite of the series. The struggle with guilt got to be too much and was the main part of the story. Enough. Let's have a real story. It would have been nice to have had their lives fleshed out between when she became…

A good read, a charming story, well written, with lovable characters. One of my favorite Quinn books: I loved it, beginning to end. Michael loves Francesca for years.

You can't beat Julia Quinn for a lively romance. Love the Bridgertons and the Smyth-Smith musicale. This couple's dilemma was a little more serious than usual, but wonderfully drawn characters and the plot moves along. Enjoyed it!
