It did not keep my attention and I was happy when it ended. I hate not finishing a movie but with this one I was very, very tempted.

Doubt if Princess Elizabeth would have given her chaperones the slip. She was too responsible. Now Margaret would have in a heartbeat.

This film gives you some idea of the excitement that surrounded the end of World War II, in Britain. The story involving the princesses is fiction (who knows for sure?) , the writer has created a comedy that I found very funny and…

Do not expect a showing of true events. This is a comedy, an amazing comedic at that, great timing and fabulous acting. A light good-natured understated British comedy for everyone, although a little knowledge of British history and…

The film may have been inspired by "true events", but the only facts in the film were that Margaret and Elizabeth were allowed to mingle with the crowds on VE night. Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret asked the King and Queen if…

Not much to be said about this film as it was very contrived and unbelievable. It didn't help that the actress portraying Elizabeth was just damn annoying. I ended up fast forwarding to most of the movie and I was sooo happy when I reached…

As a lover of royal dramatizations I had high hopes for this movie, but it truly disappointed. Inspired by true events, but with a lot of dramatic poetic license, the story was too light. The characters were not likable or even somewhat…

An entertainment based on an historical rumour. The film is well enough done, but it does not aspire to the classic status of a "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck and Princess Audrey Hepburn. Here the characterizations of the Princesses…

I really enjoyed this film. It was much better than I expected. Sweet story, solid performances and great cinematography.

I actually really enjoyed this film! It is silly and witty, while also very thoughtful. Kind of has a little bit of everything. Definitely showed a side of the royal family that you very rarely hear about.

Kinda cool. Very gentle little drama.

A delightful take on the What if?.... and an entirely believable 'Babes in the wood' presentation. Well cast and very funny at times with the Laurel and Hardy antics of the 2 military' chaperones'. A pleasant evening's viewing.

This one surprised me..pleasantly. It was funny. The characters endearing. And the plot was rather unique. It fits nicely for a couple hours of light viewing.

Keep in mind it is 99.9% fiction!

An imaginative romantic comedy on the young princesses' experiences when mingling incognito among huge crowds of revelers from all walks of life in London on VE Day (Victory in Europe as opposed to our VJ - Victory over Japan) on 8 May…

You will smile and chuckle at the antics of P1 (Princess Elizabeth) and P2 (Princess Margaret) amongst the Commoners on one of the most celebrated nights of the 1940's, VE Day.

Needless to say it’s mostly make-believe and nonsense only loosely based on an actual event but taken as a fluffy piece of alternative history Julian Jarrold’s innocent caper goes down surprisingly well. As the royal sisters Sarah Gadon…

A not too serious movie about the young future Queen and Princess Margaret. It was fun to watch.

This movie is one of those that takes a morsel of truth and runs far, far away from it. That said, it was a fun, diverting romp.

From The Telegraph, Wednesday 10 August 2016: In 1985, to mark the 40th anniversary of VE Day, the Queen said in an interview that she and her sister had repeatedly stepped on to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to acknowledge the…

This was recommended by an author I'm rather fond of and happened to meet by happenstance. Funny in spots and enjoyable to think about those two princesses on the loose on VE Day.

A rather corny account of VE day in London. Still, it kept my attention. I enjoy anything involving history and famous people even if this appears to be fiction.
