This is a blatant rip-off of Jurassic Park, seemingly written by a 14 year old boy with no concept of science. Not even worth the time as a" let's waste an hour or two" read.

A fun, junk-food homage to (rip-off of?) Jurassic Park, this time with dragons in a zoo in China. Tons of mayhem and blood plus a ridiculously bad-ass female lead - something different in these kind of books. Perfect brain-numbing stuff.

Too rollicking for me! I had to skip to the end because the continuous danger in which the main characters found themselves was too violent and unrelenting. The author could have given us some breaks to catch our breath. For dragons, I…

4 stars. This was a rollicking roller coaster of an action movie in a book form. My first of Reilly's boks, I quite enjoyed this book-it was sheer escapism in action. C J Cameron is an expert on reptiles and was mauled in the face by a…

Read this over a few days when it was first released. Yes, it's heavily dependent on Jurassic Park, but I really loved it. It reads like a screen play and the action is seriously fun. A quick escapist read with a female protagonist. What…

This is a I have nothing to do or read book. Dragons are being bred in China and the evil empire will stop at nothing to keep their zoo secret until all the deaths are covered up. Lots of hold your breath escaped and miraculous feats. …

A super enjoyable roller coaster ride of a story. An homage to "Jurassic Park." The main differences between this book and "Jurassic Park" is that journalists are touring the park, it is dragons (a type of dinosaur according to the book),…

A thriller from an Australian author. If you loved Jurassic park you are going to love this one… set 5 hours aside because you won’t want to put it down. (Submitted by Lucie).

Forty years ago, China made the discovery of a lifetime: dragons are real. Now the Chinese are ready to unveil this secret in the form of the greatest zoo ever built. A group of VIPs and journalists is brought in to the zoo for the first…

The Great Zoo of China was a riveting and addictive book, one that makes you hold your breath in anticipation of what is going to happen next. It was written brilliantly, with amazing characters. The scenery described in this book was…

Not the best of the plots or efforts. Action (which Reilly is good for) has been depicted well but not the best.

It is obvious Matthew Reilly is a huge Jurassic Park fan. Surprised he actually hasn't been charged with plagerism it is so close to the original but with dragons. I was travelling ok with it until main character found herself riding one…

It was full of action but after a while it got repetitive and boring. The same thing happened over and over and it became too predictable

If you liked Jurassic Park, you'll like this. I believe it will be made into a movie. I like the idea of having a female character as the lead in an action adventure novel. It's fast paced, but I wish there were a bit more character…

Started off with an interesting idea, but quickly went downhill. Completely unbelievable. I think I was finally done when the dragons began talking to the humans.

The comparisons to Jurassic Park are just. If you'd really like to read something fun that's very similar to Jurassic Park, then this is a good book for you. Interesting premise for fans of dragon lore.

At the start of the novel, the Zoo looks to fantasy designed and only after the dragons begin to break free does the novel really become an action novel that I enjoyed reading. Even the authors comments of the book at the end is very…

Typical Reilly book. Generally fast paced and an OK story. Strangely, it became just a bit far fetched in parts and bordered on the silly. A fair read but not up to his earlier books.
